Coaching Courses
Tuesday 18th May 2010 | Martin WilliamsIn a move set to revolutionise coach education in Wales, the FAW has introduced a new way for coaches to access relevant training.
Under the current system, all coaches undergo a standard 'C' Certificate and 'B' Licence no matter who they teach. The new system, due to launch in July, offers separate pathways for both youth and senior coaches with targeting course material.
Each course consists of a 'C' Certificate, 'B' Licence and 'A' Licence that has been specifically designed to help coaches within a particular field. The Youth Pathway will target coaches working with players age 5-21 while the Senior Pathway has been designed for coaches teaching senior players.
Welsh Football Trust Technical Director Osian Roberts said: "In education teaching is specific to age, and coaching should be no different to this. I am extremely pleased that we are now in a position to support coaches by offering Coach Education Courses which are specific to the age range that they're working with, from the youngest player to the senior player."
Courses are being held across the country with the first taking place Saturday 3rd July in Bethesda and Newport. To find out more please see the attached FAQ's or contact us on info@welshfootballtrust.org.uk
